The problem

A corporate travel company needed development and ongoing operation of the systems behind its travel-discount business. Back3nd served as its core provider, building, managing and supporting the application estate.

Why engineering mattered

The challenge crossed application boundaries: GDS integrations, payment systems, infrastructure, and both OLTP and OLAP sources for rate predictions. Changing one layer required understanding the data and operational dependencies around it. This was responsibility for a connected business system, extending from development into ongoing support.
